Within the framework of PRORYV Project, a unique complex of experimental facilities (KEF-2) was created in 2015 on the SGChE site to try out the process of nitride powder synthesis and MNIT fuel fabrication. These facilities are prototypes of fabrication refabrication modules.

The work was jointly done by SverdNIIKhimmash, SGChE and Sosny R&D Company. The commissioning of the complex is expected at the end of 2016.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the staff of Sosny R&D Company for high-quality work on development and fabrication 2N and 3N equipment of the glove boxes. Up-to-date production facility at hand and high level of professionalism and qualification of the staff enables the Company to promptly fabricate high-quality glove box equipment of 2N and 3N safety classes not only for PRORYV Project, but for any other nuclear industry facilities. Currently Sosny R&D Company is independently developing and fabricating glove boxes and in-box equipment for the process support area under the FRM Project. The first batch of glove boxes and in-box equipment has been successfully accepted. This first batch includes a receipt and portioning glove box, a temporary storage glove box, a weighing and dispensing glove box.

 The year 2016 witnessed successful implementation of an advanced radiation monitoring system (RMS) for phase 1 units of the Beloyarsk NPP to ensure radiation safety decommissioning operations. In the process, your Company developed design specifications and estimates for the advanced RMS, delivered high-level hardware with pre-installed software to the Beloyarsk NPP, performed the system pre-commissioning, and provided consulting assistance to the Beloyarsk NPP personnel regarding operation of the ARMS.

 This work materially affected the level of radiation safety during operation and preparation for decommissioning of phase 1 units. Through persistent efforts, the Sosny team headed by Vladislav A. Loginov completed extensive highly engineered tasks confronting the BNPP Radiation Safety Department in the shortest time possible.

 This work allowed making decisive progress towards the primary task, i.e. development of a revolutionary fuel for power-grade reactors, which will reduce consumption of natural uranium in nuclear industry in the future. Sarbeev, all necessary approvals and authorizations were received in the shortest time possible, the activities of all involved entities were coordinated, and several NM transportations were carried out.

In the period of 2014-2015, in accordance with Contract #15/2014 dated January 9, 2014 Sosny R&D Company completed creation of a system for profilometry and eddy current testing of irradiated fuel rods (up to 1.5 m long) in Hot Cell RZK-4 of Bldg 117 at SSC RIAR. This system is designed to examine the outside diameter and to perform the eddy current testing of claddings of the fuel rods, absorbers and other rod-type structural elements up to 1.5 m long that are elements of various reactor cores.
Tasks were as follows:
• Replace a worn in-cell scanner by a newly designed one with lots of commercial components for easier repair and better unification, and
• Replace the out-of-date and worn hardware and software of the data measuring system by the up-to-date and new ones maintaining the same operation algorithms and the system main metrological and operational parameters.
This newly designed system supports a semi-automatic mode (a manual mode is used for remote loading of the item into the canister). The sequence of connecting the cables and flow lines to the standard feedthroughs of HotCell RZK-4 has remained unchanged. The seats for radically new measuring transducers are also provided.
The reliability, the information capacity and the speed of the data measuring system have been increased. The possibilities to solve the research tasks related to the nondestructive examination of irradiated nuclear products have been extended.
The work included the development of design documentation, the fabrication, the pre commissioning, the personnel training and the delivery of equipment to the RIAR site. All activities were carried out in compliance with the schedule at a high professional level.
The hardware and software developed by Sosny R&D Company will greatly improve the quality and the capacity of research activities implemented in RIAR, and will facilitate operation and maintenance.

In June 2013 the work under Contract No. 2011-13 dated November 21, 2011 between the Dalat Nuclear Research Institute (DNRI), Vietnam and Sosny Research and Development Company, Dimitrovgrad, the Russian Federation on design, manufacture and delivery of the equipment for SFAs removal from the DNRI to the Russian Federation was successfully completed.
In accordance with Task 5 of this Contract, the equipment was mounted on the DNRI premises and the personnel was trained in loading the spent fuel assemblies into SKODA VPVR/M cask under management of S. Kashkirov and A. Samsonov, the experts from Sosny R&D Company.
This work supported the safe loading of highly enriched spent fuel assemblies into SKODA VPVR/M cask performed by the DNRI’s personnel using the Transfer Cask 101А.949.000.00 and the Automatic Grapple 101А.949.200.00 for remote operations under the shielding water layer, and also supported the air shipment of HEU SFAs from the DNRI in compliance with the IAEA’s requirements for Type C package. The joint work with Sosny Company’s experts impressed the DNRI specialists greatly.

As a result, Sosny R&D Company has created a complex of precision non-standard equipment for post-irradiation examinations of elements of the spent BN-800 reactor fuel assemblies. Sosny R&D Company was involved into the elimination of consequences of the incident since its first days in 2003. A scope of unique tasks performed by Sosny R&D Company was increased constantly. It is not an overstatement to say that Sosny Company became our main partner in developing a technique for drying and sealing the spent fuel in the canisters, in analyzing the canister safe shipment and in performing the on-site activities. Thanks to your highly skilled specialists who are capable of solving the complicated tasks it became possible. Your merits in creating such a good team are unquestionable.
Frankly speaking, our joint work has become one performed by friends not by officials. Paks NPP made its best to create a comfort environment for Sosny Company's specialists who were involved in the on-site activities in Hungary, to support them in getting knowledge about the country and in keeping only sweet memory. In particular, the Method to Determine the Quantity, Quality, Form and Type of Packaging to Return Radioactive Waste to the Republic of Kazakhstan was developed, concurred and approved under Task 6 of Contract 2008-02 "Development of Method to Determine Radioactive Waste Amount to be Returned to the Republic of Kazakhstan". I would like to make special mention of the highest competence, that the experts from Sosny R&D Company possess, their dedication to achieve the goals set.
