In 2015-2016 the Sosny R&D Company performed pre-commissioning of upgraded radiation monitoring system for Units 1 and 2 of Beloyarsk NPP in order to ensure radiation safety in decommissioning of Stage 1. Work was preformed after assembling the automated radiation monitoring system of Units 1 and 2 of Beloyarsk NPP in accordance with the existing regulations for nuclear facilities and pre-commissioning program developed by the Sosny R&D Company.
Objectives of pre-commisioning of the automated radiation monitoring system of Units 1 and 2 of Beloyarsk NPP:
- verify the system compliance with the Technical Specifications and Design documents;
- eliminate revealed non-compliances (if required);
- prepare modified system for commissioning.
Pre-commissioning was performed using equipment of high and low levels of the automated radiation monitoring system of Units 1 and 2 of Beloyarsk NPP and included the following activities:
- individual equipment tests;
- specialized software adjustment;
- system dry run.
During pre-commisioning of the automated radiation monitoring system of Units 1 and 2 of Beloyarsk NPP the implementation of the following functions specified in the Technical Specifications were verified:
- obtaining and presentation of the parameters under control;
- pre-alarm and alarm settings check;
- management of sampling line valves;
- administration of database and review of archive parameters under control;
- equipment self-test;
- information protection from unauthorized access;
- automatic registration of alarms and events;
- development, presentation and printing of deliverables;
- accounting of equipment repair and maintenance;
- accounting of laboratory analysis data;
- data backup and restore;
- transfer and obtaining of data to/from data-processing net of Beloyarsk NPP.
As a result of pre-decommissioning the compliance of the automated radiation monitoring system of Units 1 and 2 of Beloyarsk NPP with the requirements of the Technical Specifications and Design documents was confirmed. The Commission has made the conclusion that the automated radiation monitoring system of Units 1 and 2 of Beloyarsk NPP is ready for commissioning.
